Long Time - - No Blog

Things have been crazy – the holidays are certainly here! I have some very exciting news - - that I can’t share yet - - that I’m bursting to announce! But I’ll wait - - and promise that it’ll come sometime before 2010. And while I’m making promises, I promise to update this more often. It is supposed to be a record of our lives while Jenna is this young - - as we have already forgotten so many little bits of Landon’s babyhood. So, for her sake, someone hold me accountable.
In the meantime, I’ll jump into what we’ve been up to the last few weeks. Our dear friends Brian, Julie and Tony – and our new friend, Lindsay came in for a weekend of boat drinks! For no other reason than “it’s been too long”, we had a lazy 2 days of drinking, talking, listening to music… just relaxing. Everyone took turns looking after the kiddos and that’s always fun for me!

The next weekend, Jenna and I met Aunt Jodi in Waco for the Baylor vs. UT game! We stayed with our dear family friends, The Gerik’s, and they made our stay so fun – we forgot how horribly Texas beat the Bears.
After tailgating at the George’s tent and meeting friends all over the stadium, she was a little bit tired during the second half. She slept soundly, grasping her ticket, the entire 3rd quarter.

We went to a wonderful dinner at Diamondbacks (yum) and then met the Adrians at a fun new Waco bar. Perfect weekend.
These are some sweet pictures of Jenna and Cyndi - - picking out her first American Girl doll……

This is me, describing the summer that I took all of my “Kiddie Kamp” earnings (yes – I ran a day camp every summer) and bought a waterproof Cabbage Patch doll! I’m still upset about it and talking about dolls brought back my disappointment in my decision that summer –over 20 years ago.

Love….

Last weekend, as we looked forward to celebrating Thanksgiving and my mother’s birthday, my grandmother passed away. She had been battling Alzheimer’s disease and so the fact that she is Home, free from pain and back to her true self, is such a blessing. But, as it always is, losing someone you love is difficult; we continue to grieve and miss her.
My sister and Anthony came in for a night before we headed to San Antonio to say Goodbye. We went to the Bentwater “tree-lighting” celebration - - and of course, decked Jenna out in costume.

It's all fun and games until you have to meet Santa...

I love this time of year - - have a Wonderful December and remember to sit back and enjoy it all!
And love on your dogs…
